Five checks before buying
- Ask for label photographs. Product codes, wash labels and manufacturer details are more useful than one front-facing image.

- Inspect the sponsor and printing. Cracking, lifting, replacement lettering and heat damage materially affect condition and value.
- Read the condition description. Check for pulls, bobbling, stains, repairs and missing labels, and keep copies of the listing photographs.
- Use protected payment. Review seller history and use the marketplace or retailer's supported checkout and returns process.
Original, remake or inspired design?
An original period shirt, an officially licensed remake and an unofficial reproduction are different products. A trustworthy listing should make that distinction clear. If the price appears unusually low for a rare shirt, treat that as a reason to ask more questions rather than proof of a bargain.
