Data methodology & sources

Clear scope, automated checks and an open correction process.

Current status: the archive structure and automated checks were reviewed on 24 July 2026. Manual primary-source review is continuing league by league.

Publication process

  1. A season remains outside public derived totals until it is explicitly added to the published league configuration.
  2. Build-time checks test route metadata, duplicate positions, match totals, goal difference, champion consistency, total goals and top-scorer consistency.
  3. Pages identify when records are partial, illustrative or under review.
  4. Corrections are applied to the shared season record so connected club, player and comparison pages update together.

Definitions

  • Champion: the competition winner, which may differ from first place in competitions with playoffs.
  • Archive total: a total calculated only from published seasons represented on Last Season.
  • Top scorer: league goals in the named season unless the page states otherwise.
  • Kit colour study: a stylised representation of broad colours and era metadata, not a replica or authentication record.

Current results and fixtures

The match centre is deliberately separate from the reviewed historical archive. Recent results and upcoming fixtures are supplied by TheSportsDB, normalised by our Cloudflare Worker and cached briefly for performance. Current-feed records do not alter completed-season archive data.
