Cole Palmer was the breakout star of the season. Signed from Manchester City in the summer for around 40 million pounds, the 21-year-old lit up Stamford Bridge with 22 goals and 11 assists, claiming the Young Player of the Season award and the Golden Boot.

At the bottom, Sheffield United endured a historically poor campaign, finishing on just 16 points with only three wins all season. Burnley and Luton Town, both newly promoted, also went straight back down. Sheffield United's 104 goals conceded was the worst defensive record in Premier League history.
